The Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migrations, Elma Saiz, has announced the imminent creation of a working group aimed at evaluating morbidity and the conditions faced by caregivers who also hold a job. This analysis seeks to facilitate the implementation of coefficients to reduce the retirement age of these workers, who are predominantly women dedicated to the care of dependent people. In his address to Congress, Saiz stressed the need to understand the working and health conditions affecting this group, emphasizing that the study will enable the necessary measures to be taken by the Social Security services.
Additionally, the minister announced that this Thursday the Evaluation Commission, charged with determining the circumstances that justify the application of these coefficients in various professions, will begin to operate by means of a ministerial order. The Government's transparency in this process has been highlighted by Saiz, who also pointed out that other territorial administrations will be able to implement policies in support of caregivers. For its part, the PNV acknowledged the advances in non-professional caregivers' contributions, but warned that these improvements are insufficient, emphasizing the need to address the complicated health effects that come with caregiving responsibilities.
