A man in his sixties has killed another man with a firearm in Prado Negro, a small hamlet of Huétor Santillán, Granada, in what appears to be an act of violence triggered by personal quarrels. The incident, which occurred before 3:00 p.m. on this Wednesday, has mobilized an extensive Guardia Civil deployment, which is working to capture the alleged perpetrator of the homicide, who has barricaded himself in his house alongside the deceased's wife, whom he is holding captive. The crime scene, in this town of barely fifty inhabitants, has seen the arrival of medical personnel and an emergency helicopter.
The situation, which has disrupted the usual tranquility of the hamlet, remains tense and unresolved at the close of this edition, past 8:30 p.m. At the scene, cordoned off by the authorities, are the Special Intervention Unit and the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police of the Guardia Civil, along with security and traffic patrols. According to the mayor of Huétor Santillán, José Carlos Ortega, the incident occurred when the attacker rammed his vehicle into the neighboring couple, subsequently shooting the man, a retiree, and kidnapping the woman. The presence of the victim's relatives, visibly affected, has increased the tension in the community.
