A Civil Guard officer from O Porriño, in the province of Pontevedra, has been sanctioned for not reporting an incident that occurred in May 2024, when his female colleague, assigned to the Public Security Service, felt unwell and asked to return before finishing her shift. The situation was not registered in the service report, which led the Territorial Military Court of A Coruña to determine that the facts constituted a minor offense, sanctioning the agent with a written reprimand. In contrast, the female colleague received a sanction for a serious offense.
The Guardia Civil officer argued that he was only complying with his superior's order by taking her home. However, the Court stressed that the sanction was imposed for the omission to report the incident, not for the fact of having transferred the agent. Despite its appeal, the resolution of the Chief of the Vigo Company has remained intact, evidencing the importance of properly recording events within the framework of service.
