As part of IFA 2025, Samsung Electronics has unveiled an ambitious proposal titled "AI Home: Future Living, Now," which seeks to integrate artificial intelligence into homes in an accessible and practical way. During the presentation, Cheolgi Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Samsung's Digital Appliances Business, highlighted the company's commitment not only to imagining the future of AI, but to its active integration into day-to-day life. "This is the beginning of a new era in which technology supports your life in the background, allowing you to live it more fully," Kim said.
The AI Home initiative focuses on improving the convenience, efficiency, health, and safety of homes. A recent study reveals that 66% of consumers find the idea of an AI-enabled home attractive. Additionally, 44% are interested in simplifying daily tasks, and 45% seek greater control through voice commands or mobile apps. The SmartThings platform enables full home automation, from lighting to temperature, and even adjusts the blinds according to the weather.
The study results also show that 93% of people consider their home a sanctuary and 80% see it as a social center. In this context, AI Home promotes moments of shared well-being, offering personalized configurations for sleep and nutritional planning. Energy efficiency is another priority, with 66% of respondents noting that a smart home can help monitor expenses and save money. SmartThings technology promises to reduce the energy consumption of washing machines by up to 70%.
Security isn't lagging behind, with 40% of consumers expecting AI to improve home protection with timely alerts. To this end, Samsung offers the Samsung Knox Vault for the protection of sensitive data and Knox Matrix to expand security across all connected devices.
In terms of products, Samsung unveiled its new Bespoke AI appliances, which aim to improve the home experience. They highlight the Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra, capable of recognizing transparent liquids, and the Bespoke AI Washer, which optimizes washing and saves energy. The Bespoke AI Dishwasher also adapts to the dirtiness of the dishes, optimizing its cleaning cycle.
In the realm of entertainment, Samsung introduced the Vision AI Companion, an assistant designed to interact in a more human way, redefining the smart home experience. The attendees were able to see an impressive 115-inch display with cinema-quality picture and a portable television with a touchscreen.
Additionally, Samsung announced that its Galaxy AI will expand to be integrated into more than 200 million devices in 2024, with the aim of reaching 400 million by the end of 2025, congratulations on improving the mobile experience.
Samsung's exhibition at IFA will be open until September 9 at the CityCube in Berlin, also offering a digital art installation created in collaboration with artist Maotik, which symbolizes the positive impact of Samsung's AI technology on the daily lives of its users.
