The President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, has held a meeting with Ted Sarandos, Netflix's co-CEO, in a symbolic encounter that underscores the cooperation between the region and the entertainment giant. The meeting took place at the Royal House of the Post Office, in the context of Netflix's tenth anniversary in Spain. The company has consolidated its presence in the country, especially with its production center in Tres Cantos, the first of its kind in Europe.
This center, with an impressive footprint of more than 22,000 square meters, houses 10 state-of-the-art studios and represents a milestone for the audiovisual industry on the continent. Not only is it a space dedicated to content creation, but it also sets new standards in technology and postproduction. It highlights its innovative post-production laboratory, the first for Netflix worldwide, and a pioneering remote editing system in the national arena.
Sarandos's visit aligns the strategic importance that Spain and, in particular, the Community of Madrid, have for Netflix. The collaboration also highlights the region's interest in becoming a cultural and technological reference in Europe. During the meeting, both parties discussed the importance of fostering local talent and the creation of content that reflects the region's cultural diversity and creative dynamism.
The presence of Netflix has not only been an economic boost, but it has also strengthened Madrid's position as an essential hub for audiovisual production. The region seeks to continue attracting significant investments that contribute to growth and innovation in the sector, thereby strengthening its role in the international landscape of the creative industries.
