The world of Spanish motorsport is about to welcome a new competitor who promises to revolutionize the scene. BSP RacingTeam, the brand-new racing team founded by the Granada-born driver Juan Miguel Larios and his brother and co-driver Leopoldo Larios, has been officially presented in Granada. With the backing of the energy company Black Star Petroleum, this team seeks to break into the international motorsport elite.
In an interview for TG7, Granada City Council's Municipal Television, the Larios brothers detailed their ambitious project. The team will debut at the end of September in the Spanish GT Championship, which will be held at the Jerez Circuit. They will do it aboard a powerful 510-horsepower Porsche, with the aim of climbing up the standings to participate in the Porsche Supercup next year, a competition that serves as the stepping stone to the prestigious Formula 1.
The role of Black Star Petroleum has been crucial in the realization of this dream, providing not only financial support but also a vision that seeks to connect technological innovation with high-level motorsport. The goal is clear: to make an appearance in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup and to compete on iconic circuits worldwide.
The team, although newly formed, remains faithful to its Granada roots, participating in local events such as the Rally Ciudad de Granada, while also turning toward circuit racing competitions that provide greater international exposure.
With a view to strengthening their foray into the world of motorsport, BSP RacingTeam is seeking new sponsors to enable them to sustain themselves in the demanding competitions. Leopoldo Larios emphasized the importance of enlisting more companies and institutions in his cause, highlighting motorsport as a sport with high costs but with valuable opportunities for exposure and prestige.
The debut at the Circuito de Jerez will put the team to the test against renowned competitors in Spanish motorsport, such as Borja García, Alejandro Barambio, and Miguel Lobo. The anticipation surrounding BSP RacingTeam is growing, a team that represents not only a new participant on the track, but also a symbol of innovation and ambition in Spanish motorsport.
