The last week of August brings with it a picture of climatic instability in Spain, characterized by a deep trough that will generate fluctuations in temperatures. Starting this Monday, the arrival of clouds is expected to bring showers and thunderstorms, particularly strong in the Pyrenees and in regions such as Aragon, Catalonia, the Valencian Community and the Balearic Islands. The State Meteorological Agency warns of the presence of a DANA to the southwest, whose trajectory is uncertain but is expected to be absorbed by the general circulation.
With respect to temperatures, an increase is anticipated in the southwest and northeast of the country, while in the Canary Islands declines will be recorded. The Guadalquivir, Guadiana, Tagus, and Ebro could see temperatures that exceed 35 degrees. As the week progresses, the instability will increase, with the arrival of a trough that will affect practically all of Spain, potentially generating very strong storms in Catalonia, Aragon, Navarre and La Rioja. In contrast, the Mediterranean coast could experience temperatures up to 3 degrees higher than usual, despite the cooling that the trough's advance will cause.
