At its annual conference, Workday Rising 2025, the company Workday, Inc. has presented Workday Data Cloud, an innovative platform designed to transform the management of financial and human resources data within organizations. This tool seeks to turn data about people and money into strategic resources, integrating them with information about customers, markets, and operations.
Workday Data Cloud aims to break down information silos and provide real-time access to secure and up-to-date data, facilitating decision-making and the development of AI-based solutions. The company has designed an open ecosystem in collaboration with industry leaders such as Databricks, Salesforce, and Snowflake, introducing a “zero-copy” model to access data without costly duplications.
This approach allows organizations to obtain a unified view of their business data. For example, a retailer will be able to combine the employee engagement data from Workday with store performance in Snowflake to identify factors of commercial success.
The new solution offers benefits in multiple areas:
– In finance, it allows unifying data for real-time planning and forecasting.
In human resources, it links internal metrics to business indicators.
– In retail, optimize shopping experiences through data integration.
The Workday Data Cloud framework is based on four main components: Workday Data Lake, a secure and centralized repository; Workday Data Connect, a bidirectional data exchange system; Workday Live Data Query, for fast SQL access; and Workday Prism, which extends integration and transformation capabilities without duplication.
Gerrit Kazmaier, Workday's President of Product and Technology, highlighted that the new platform will offer customers secure and open access to their most reliable data, driving innovation with AI.
The availability of Workday Data Cloud is planned for early adopter customers in the first half of 2026, and more generally toward the end of that year. With more than 11,000 client organizations worldwide, Workday reinforces its position as a leader in enterprise platforms.
This announcement marks a milestone in enterprise data management, proposing a more agile, transparent, and connected model that closes the gap between AI theory and its practical application, offering a tangible competitive advantage to companies.
