The Vox representatives in Madrid met this Friday with President Isabel Díaz Ayuso at the Real Casa de Correos, as part of a series of meetings with parliamentary spokespersons at the start of the new session. During the meeting, Vox spokesperson Isabel Pérez Moñino-Aranda expressed her discontent at what she regards as a 'tremendous blockade' of her party's initiatives by the PP. Among the proposals that have been rejected are the prohibition of the Islamic veil and the carrying out of age tests on unaccompanied migrant minors. Pérez Moñino also asked the president for a reduction in political spending and measures to address what he described as a 'collapse' in essential public services.
For his part, the Councillor of the Presidency and Government Spokesperson, Miguel Ángel García Martín, criticized Vox's strategy, stating that the party is 'getting the wrong window' by focusing on opposing within the Community of Madrid rather than the central government. García Martín insisted that his administration is committed to addressing the current migrant chaos and defended the Executive's actions to improve public services. With another year and a half still to go until the next elections, Pérez Moñino warned that citizens are evaluating the performance of both parties.
