The political situation in Spain has undergone a significant shift since the early months of 2025. VOX, after facing a decline in its voting intentions due to the negative effects of the Trump administration on trade relations with Europe, has managed to capitalize on the growing attention to immigration on the political agenda. Currently, the party positions itself as the most loyal among its voters, which could translate into an increase in the number of deputies to 44, surpassing 15.5% of the votes. This surge occurs amid a stagnation in its rivals' voting intentions, which gives it greater bargaining power in a possible government agreement with the People’s Party.
On the other hand, the PSOE continues fighting in a complicated electoral landscape. Despite some improvements, the party fails to regain its level of support and would face difficulties forming a government, with estimates indicating around 110 seats. The citizens show a strong rejection of the regional debt forgiveness and reflect concerns about immigration, considering that the access control is too permissive. In a context where rural Spain struggles against disasters such as wildfires and storms, public opinion is calling for greater intervention by the central government in crisis management, reaffirming the demand for a more effective response to such phenomena.
