A Quarter-Century of Flavors: The Mafia Sits Down at the Table, Celebrating 25 Years of History and Passion

A quarter of a century ago, in the city of Zaragoza, a modest Italian restaurant began its journey. Their founders, Javier Floristán and his partner, both 18 years old and friends since military service, realized their dream inspired by a trip to Italy. Thus was born 'La Mafia se sienta a la mesa', a brand that today stands out as a benchmark in Italian gastronomy in Spain, Portugal and Andorra, with more than 80 establishments.

The name of the restaurant comes from an Italian cookbook that intrigued its founders. Since its humble beginnings, the chain has experienced notable growth, largely thanks to strategic decisions such as adopting a franchise model in 2002, the creation of its own bakery, and its expansion to Portugal in 2021. Despite going through difficult times, such as the 2008 financial crisis and the 2020 pandemic, the company has demonstrated its resilience through professionalization and the implementation of technological innovations.

Javier Floristán, CEO and the driving force behind the project, has maintained a consistent vision focused on offering restaurants where the ambience and the food are equally important. Their ability to predict trends and renew spaces has been essential to the success and evolution of the brand.

On the occasion of its 25th anniversary, the brand has modernized its visual identity and is preparing to celebrate in a big way. The illustrator Beatriz Ramos has been commissioned to capture the essence of "La Mafia" in a work that will decorate the streets of Madrid. Additionally, they have launched a sock collection with Jimmy Lion and a T-shirt bearing the brand's emblematic phrase.

To thank its most loyal customers, «La Mafia se sienta a la mesa» will hand out an exclusive pack to its 25 most loyal customers and will raffle off 10 among its online community, including a meal or dinner at its restaurants.

With ambitious expansion plans that include new openings in the near future, the brand celebrates these 25 years with the same passion as at the beginning and a firm commitment to continue growing without abandoning its original essence.
