In a ceremony full of recognition and enthusiasm, the city of Madrid celebrated the presentation of the Madrid Talent Distinctions, an event that recognizes the exceptional contribution of public workers in various areas. The deputy mayor, Inma Sanz, presided over the ceremony, accompanied by Engracia Hidalgo, Paloma García Romero, and José Fernández, who highlighted the importance of commitment and responsibility in public service.
The distinctions took place in the gardens of Cecilio Rodríguez, where the work of public servants was recognized in three distinct categories: Innovation, Performance and the Special San Isidro distinction. These awards reflect the Madrid City Council's commitment to attracting and nurturing talent within its ranks, a strategy that has been consolidated since 2019 with the creation of the Human Resources Transformation Strategy.
In the Innovation category, Jesús Calvo was awarded for his work in the automation of the selection processes, improving efficiency and reducing errors in temporary employment. In the collective format, the Department of Career Guidance and Labor Intermediation was praised for its success in connecting talent with business needs, boosting employment.
Laura Gris received the recognition in the Performance category, highlighting her leadership at the General Directorate of Budgets, which has helped strengthen the capital's financial stability. Ignacio Ramírez was awarded for his effort in social projects, such as the eradication of shantytowns and the implementation of the Family Card. In the collective sphere, the Mercamadrid Inspection Department stood out for its work in food safety and social responsibility, benefiting millions of consumers and supporting social entities with the donation of food.
The special Madrid Talento San Isidro distinction was awarded to José Luis Infanzón, for his crucial role in the modernization of the city through emblematic projects such as the remodeling of Puerta del Sol and the construction of Madrid Río.
The impact of these initiatives is also reflected in the improvement of the quality of life in Madrid. The 2024 survey on satisfaction with public services shows an average rating of 7.8 out of 10. Services such as the Fire Department, SAMUR-Protección Civil, and Samur Social obtain high ratings for their excellent performance.
The event highlights the importance of the talent and dedication of municipal workers to build a more modern and efficient city, and the role of the City Council in promoting a work environment that fosters innovation and professional development.
