Samsung Electronics has taken a significant step toward the future of interaction with its smart TVs by announcing an update to its voice assistant Bixby. The new version incorporates a more advanced artificial intelligence system that promises to transform the way users search for and find information.
With 19 years at the helm of the global TV market, Samsung continues to set the pace of technological innovation. Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display business, stressed the company's commitment to the continuous improvement of the user experience.
The revamped Bixby offers a more personalized and seamless experience, allowing the assistant to be activated simply by speaking or pressing the microphone button, without the need for complex commands or menus. Thanks to its ability to understand the context and follow-up questions, the interaction resembles a natural conversation. In this way, users can receive information about the content viewed or seek recommendations more efficiently.
Among the new features, the integration of Bixby with the Click to Search function stands out for making it easier to search for information while watching live television. Viewers can get instant answers about actors, programs and more, directly on their television. Additionally, Bixby extends its usefulness to everyday queries, such as recipes or movie recommendations.
But the updates are not limited to content search. The integration with Samsung SmartThings transforms these TVs into true home control centers. Users can manage their smart devices through voice commands, increasing convenience and efficiency in daily use.
Security, a crucial aspect in the digital era, is secured with Samsung Knox, which protects users' personal information against potential vulnerabilities.
The new version of Bixby will be released on several 2025 Samsung TV models, such as Neo QLED, OLED, The Frame, and QLED, starting in South Korea and gradually expanding globally. Additionally, an update to Vision AI is expected for October 2025, as part of the Tizen OS free update program, which guarantees ongoing support and improvements for seven years.
This evolution in artificial intelligence for televisions promises not only to redefine the way we interact with our devices, but also to further solidify Samsung's position as a leader in home entertainment technology.
