The program 'La familia de la tele', aired on La 1, faces an uncertain future after failing to meet audience expectations since its debut on May 5. The Wednesday broadcast reached an all-time low with a 5.4% audience share, and on Tuesday it was even surpassed by La 2, finishing in sixth place. This drop in the indices deviates significantly from the channel's average, which stands at 11.9% this June, turning the program into an obstacle for the network. RTVE is evaluating when to withdraw it, with options including an immediate cancellation or waiting until the start of the Tour de France on July 5, which could provide a temporary respite in the schedule.
Despite the recent efforts to revitalize the program, including changes to its format and scheduling, such as the elimination of its second airing block and the introduction of new segments, the results have not improved. In a desperate attempt, content tests have varied from hosts introducing social-chronicle videos to reenactments of the series "Verano Azul". José Pablo López, president of RTVE, defended the program's continuity in Congress, stating that he would rather be mistaken than not try, and leaving open the possibility of reconsidering his stance in the near future.
