The second professional qualification course in social and health care for dependent people in social care institutions, organized by Residencial Palau, recently concluded successfully. The program, which began on January 27 of last year, had the backing of the Department of Enterprise and Labour of the Government of Catalonia, the Catalan Employment Service (SOC), the Ministry of Labour and Social Economy, and the Ministry of Education.
This second edition of the course seeks to strengthen the competencies of those who dedicate themselves to caring for older people. The participants, including center staff and new entrants to the sector, received training to offer care that is more technical, safe, and tailored to the individual needs of each person.
The program covered support in daily activities, basic health care, psychosocial intervention, and communication and management in residential settings. Thanks to a methodology that combines theory and practice, the students were able to apply their knowledge in the real environment of Residencial Palau, thereby enriching their learning.
The course not only increases the participants' training and employability by awarding a certification valid at the state level, but also improves the center's quality of care by forming a more prepared and motivated team.
The management of Residencial Palau expressed its satisfaction with the reception and is already planning new editions. "Continuing education is key to providing better care. Investing in the team's knowledge is investing in the well-being of our residents," they emphasize.
With initiatives like this, Residencial Palau reinforces its commitment to professional, person-centered care, betting on a residential model where human support and continuous improvement are fundamental.
