The CC.OO. unions., UGT and CSIF have announced a series of joint actions to demand a salary increase that would allow the workers of Quirón Prevención to recover their purchasing power. On October 21 at 12:00 a.m., a mobilization of delegates is planned at the company's central headquarters located on Agustín de Betancourt Street, Madrid.
The trade union sections have decided to carry out this measure after more than eight months of fruitless negotiations regarding the Third Collective Agreement of Quirón Prevención. The areas of disagreement include the salary increase and the consolidation of labor rights.
In the current negotiations, Quirón Prevención has proposed a salary increase that, according to the unions, does not compensate for the loss of purchasing power accumulated in previous years. This has generated serious financial difficulties for a significant portion of the staff.
Furthermore, the company conditions this salary increase on cuts to rights previously established in collective bargaining agreements. These cuts would affect issues such as flexible working hours for certain groups of workers, as well as the removal of leave to accompany family members to medical appointments, a crucial right for work-life balance. The unions consider that these measures are unjustified and will not bring significant benefits to the company.
CC.OO., UGT and CSIF have made clear that they will use all available means of pressure to ensure that the management of Quirón, the leading operator in the occupational risk prevention sector and part of Quirónsalud, one of the largest private healthcare companies in Spain, presents a proposal that would allow workers to recover their purchasing power without reducing rights.
