The political debate intensified when the PP's secretary-general, Miguel Tellado, accused President Pedro Sánchez of 'stirring up violence' in the context of the recent pro-Palestinian protests that interrupted the final stage of the Vuelta a España. During an interview on 'La hora de La 1', Tellado considered that Sánchez uses these statements as a distraction from the corruption scandals that surround his family. In his critique, he emphasized the serious image that Spain is projecting internationally and pointed out the need for the international community to resolve the situation in Gaza without resorting to internal unrest.
On the other hand, the Danish Jonas Vingegaard, who won La Vuelta, expressed his disappointment at not being able to enjoy the traditional podium celebration due to the incidents caused by the protesters. Despite the situation, their team improvised an awards ceremony at their hotel, using coolers as a podium to recognize Vingegaard and his competitors, Joao Almeida and Tom Pidcock. The organization of La Vuelta also lamented the disturbances, noting that its efforts were not sufficient to complete the planned stage, and called a press conference to address the events.
