In a significant move for the education sector, Banco Santander has joined forces with UNIVERSITAS XXI and SIGMA to optimize academic management in Spanish-speaking universities. This collaboration, centered on the implementation of advanced technological solutions, seeks to facilitate the academic environment for students and teachers, encompassing a vast network of institutions.
UNIVERSITAS XXI and SIGMA, entities that provide services to more than 100 and 25 universities respectively, have decided to pool their efforts to make academic administration more efficient and accessible. This synergy is seen as key to transforming the educational experience and fostering a more dynamic academic environment.
Banco Santander, with a track record of nearly 30 years supporting education, employability and entrepreneurship, plays a crucial role in this agreement. During this period, the bank has invested more than 2.4 billion euros in educational initiatives, benefiting a total of 3.7 million people in collaboration with approximately 1,200 universities and institutions.
Access to the new technology will be possible through the applications developed by Banco Santander in collaboration with the Conference of Rectors and Rectoras of Spanish Universities (CRUE). Currently, the bank offers 62 customized applications that have been adopted by more than 1.4 million students and teachers, accumulating a total of 74 million visits in the last year.
The strategy is strengthened by the integration of PagoNxt Payments technology, the Santander Group's global payments platform, which enables universities and other entities to conduct secure and efficient transactions, reaffirming the bank's commitment to innovation and the enrichment of the university experience.
With this collaboration, the university sector advances toward a horizon of opportunities, aiming to enrich education and facilitate access to key resources for learning and professional development.
