The five members of the so-called Castelldefels Pack have admitted their guilt in a case of rape and non-consensual dissemination of videos of three women, thereby reducing the sentences initially requested by the Prosecutor's Office. In a negotiated plea agreement, the sentences have been reduced from 196 years to a total of less than 33 years in prison. The individual sentences range from 8 years and 5 months for the main defendant, Roberto P., to 3 years and 11 months for the person who received the shortest sentence. During the trial, the defendants expressed remorse and asked for forgiveness from the victims, stating their intention to make amends for the harm caused.
In addition to the convictions, the agreement provides for compensation for the victims totaling more than 100,000 euros, amounts that the defendants used as evidence of their remorse. Although the dissemination of illicit videos and photographs was left out of the final agreement, this case underscores the gravity and the repercussions of the crime. Victims of violence, as well as their families and their social environment, continue to have access to support resources such as the 016 helpline, which provides assistance in multiple languages in an anonymous and ongoing manner.
