The Community of Madrid has taken a significant step in home health care by awarding a contract valued at 107.4 million euros to provide respiratory therapies to more than 150,000 users of the regional public health system. This decision, announced after the meeting of the Council of Government, represents a five-year commitment.
The contract will allow patients to receive in the comfort of their homes both aerosols and nebulizers, in addition to benefiting from various assisted ventilation techniques. This effort aims to improve the quality of life of patients who require specialized respiratory care, reducing the need for hospitalizations and optimizing the efficiency of the public health system.
The initiative reflects the objective of the Community of Madrid to strengthen home health services, ensuring that patients with chronic or acute respiratory conditions have access to the resources necessary for their treatment without having to travel.
This financial and logistical commitment is one of the key measures to address the growing demand for respiratory care, in line with global trends in patient-centered health care. Regional authorities emphasize that this measure will not only benefit the users directly involved, but also relieve the burden on hospital centers, allowing more focused and efficient care.
The awarding of this contract underscores the Community of Madrid's commitment to integrating technological and therapeutic innovations within public health care, placing the patient at the center of its health policies and promoting home care as a viable and effective alternative.
