Madrid Celebrates Library Day with Literary Activities and the 17th Microfiction Prize

The municipal public libraries have decided to join the celebrations with an ambitious program that includes more than 200 activities aimed at all kinds of audiences. This initiative seeks not only to promote reading and knowledge, but also to strengthen the sense of community and belonging among the citizens.

Over the course of several weeks, attendees will be able to enjoy a wide range of events that run from literary workshops and storytelling sessions for the youngest, to talks with renowned authors and thematic exhibitions that aim to attract people of all ages. With these activities, libraries hope to reach both the most avid readers and those who may not have yet discovered their passion for books.

The organizers emphasize that this program not only focuses on traditional literature, but also includes spaces for digital creativity, science, art, and interactive activities that aim to engage participants from all generations.

One of the strengths of this celebration will be the collaboration with schools and local cultural organizations, which have lent their support to ensure that the activities are accessible and have a positive impact on the community.

In addition to promoting reading, libraries seek to be a place of encounter and learning. "We want the library to be seen as an open, inclusive and dynamic space, where each person can find a special corner," said one of the event coordinators.

The activities, which are free, will run throughout the month, and it is expected that they will attract thousands of visitors. The community is invited to participate and enjoy what promises to be a unique celebration of knowledge and culture.
