The city of Madrid hosted the international luxury tourism fair Emotions, which was held from June 2 to 5 at Espacio COAM. The capital city hosted for the first time this well-established gathering, which brought together 250 brands and high-level service providers from Europe and a select group of tourism industry professionals from around the world.
The Councillor for Tourism, Almudena Maíllo, has stated that "the celebration of Emotions in Madrid is a milestone that reinforces the city as a high-impact destination, capable of attracting a traveler who seeks unique experiences." In this way, "we can promote a more sustainable tourism model, based on quality, authenticity, and the capacity to generate a positive economic impact in the city," Maíllo has highlighted.
The Madrid City Council, through the Tourism Delegated Area, played a prominent role at this event with its own space, where it held about fifty pre-scheduled meetings, which allowed promoting Madrid's tourism offerings and experiences among agents from markets prioritized for the capital, such as North America, Latin America, the Middle East, or Asia.
The Delegated Area of Tourism was also present at the three sessions of networking organized by Emotions and held at the Satellite Pavilion of the Madrid Arena in the Casa de Campo and at the Mandarin Oriental Ritz and The Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel. Madrid also had visibility in the professional guide and in the exhibitors' catalog of the fair. The participation in this event, which we had already attended in previous editions, is framed within the promotional plan developed by the Delegated Area of Tourism to promote the capital as a destination for the high-impact traveler and has allowed the establishment of new professional relationships, contacts and synergies, in addition to strengthening Madrid as a venue for large international events
