Lanzarote and Los Jameos del Agua: Beacon of Sustainability and Innovation at the Azul Zero Awards

The island of Lanzarote is preparing to be the focus of international attention with the second edition of the Azul Zero Awards, which will be held on November 14 at the iconic auditorium of Los Jameos del Agua. This space, designed by the renowned artist César Manrique, will serve as the stage for an event that promises to be a unique fusion of art, sustainability, and innovation.

With the motto 'The magic of being alive,' the gala aims to be a sensory experience that combines sustainability and human commitment. Organized by Azul Zero in collaboration with the Centers for Art, Culture and Tourism (CACT) and Lanzarote Tourism, the event seeks to highlight individuals who promote positive change in society. The ceremony will feature the participation of Ángeles Blanco and a holographic artificial intelligence, symbolizing the relationship between humanity and digital progress.

This year, the Azul Zero Awards will recognize personalities such as the Dr. María Neira of the World Health Organization, the indigenous rights advocate Myrna Cunningham, and the author Carl Honoré. They will also be honored, Carlos Mallo, a pioneer in marine conservation, Javier Goyeneche of ECOALF, and Patricia Yurena, for their impact on female beauty and authenticity. Other awardees include Nigerian architect Mariam Issoufou and César Manrique, who will receive a posthumous recognition for his contribution to art and nature in Lanzarote. The astrophysics PhD Antonia Varela and José Díaz from Educa Nepal will also be awarded.

The selection committee is composed of experts committed to sustainability, such as Carmen Albertos from the World Bank and Dr. Raúl Sánchez Molina. Ana Quintana, CEO of Azul Zero, says: "Azul Zero was born with the conviction that sustainability is not only a goal, but a way of understanding life."

With this edition, Azul Zero reaffirms its commitment to inspire through stories that promote a future where human development coexists with respect for nature, celebrating diversity and the need to protect our environment.
