The Community of Madrid Leads Spain in Reducing Unemployment with 60,000 Fewer Unemployed in One Year.

The Active Population Survey (EPA) for the third quarter of the year, presented today by the National Institute of Statistics, reveals encouraging figures for the Community of Madrid regarding youth and female employment. According to the data, the unemployment rate among young people has fallen by four percentage points in the last year, standing at 22.8%, the lowest since 2008 for this period. This figure is notably favorable compared with the state average, of which it is 2.6 points below.

Moreover, the figures are promising for women, with a reduction in the unemployment rate to 8.3%, which represents 3.6 percentage points lower than the national average.

The region's labor momentum is reflected in job creation, with an increase of 101,400 employed people in the last year, a 3% increase. This growth is almost half a percentage point higher than the national average of 2.6%. This brings the total number of workers in the Community of Madrid to 3,520,600, marking the highest figure for this period and the second-highest in history, only surpassed by the previous quarter.

A relevant data point is the quality of the employment generated, with 88.6% of salaried workers under indefinite contracts, surpassing the national average by 4.2 percentage points. Moreover, the region's activity rate rises to 62.8%, standing 3.5 percentage points above the Spanish average.

These results reflect a positive outlook for Madrid, which continues to reaffirm its economic strength and its ability to generate employment, consolidating itself as a driver of growth at the national level.
