The Community of Madrid has announced a strategic plan aimed at ensuring the safety and reliability of its extensive metro network, which exceeds 300 kilometers in length. In an effort to improve and maintain the underground infrastructure, the Governing Council has welcomed the proposal for the award of technical assistance with a total investment of 10.9 million euros.
This significant outlay is distributed across three distinct contracts, designed to address the specific needs of the comprehensive maintenance of the routes. The plan provides for a four-year execution period, thereby ensuring a long-term approach to the management and improvement of the transport system.
The investment proposal seeks not only to reinforce the security of the service, but also to ensure its reliability for the millions of users who rely on the subway every day for their commutes. This measure is seen as an essential step towards the modernization and sustainability of the network, responding to the growing demands for high-quality public transport in the Madrid region.
By highlighting the importance of this investment, sources from the Administration underscore the commitment of the Community of Madrid to the development of infrastructure that not only supports the current flow of passengers, but also enables a future projection of growth in the use of public transport.
With this initiative, the Community aims to position the Madrid Metro as a model of efficient and innovative management, capable of facing the challenges of the 21st century in urban mobility.
