The Deputy Health Minister of the Community of Madrid, Laura Gutiérrez, has highlighted the importance of collaboration between the municipalities and the health sector to integrate public health into local policies. In a recent meeting, Gutiérrez emphasized that the municipality is a key actor in the development of various areas that directly affect the well-being of the population.
During his intervention, Gutiérrez explained that municipalities are responsible for deciding urban planning, which has a direct impact on the quality of life of the citizens. Additionally, he highlighted the promotion of sports activities by local governments as a fundamental factor in fostering healthy habits among the population.
The deputy councilor also underscored the role of municipalities in promoting culture, another aspect that, according to her, contributes to general well-being and strengthens the social fabric. Additionally, Gutiérrez mentioned the planning of social programs and the protection of the environment as lines of action that must be integrated into local health policies.
The multidisciplinary approach, according to Gutiérrez, is essential to address the current challenges in public health effectively, ensuring that municipal decisions have a positive and sustainable impact on the community. Intersectoral collaboration, he stated, is the key to building healthier and more resilient societies.
The deputy councillor concluded her remarks, reiterating the Community of Madrid's commitment to continue working closely with the municipalities to achieve these objectives.
