The Governing Council of the Community of Madrid has given the green light to a significant 40% increase in the aid allocated to foster families of wards under guardianship. This decision entails an annual investment of 14 million euros by the regional government, aimed at strengthening this important figure in child protection.
This increase in benefits aims to ensure that children and young people under guardianship can benefit from a stable and secure family environment, thereby facilitating their personal and emotional development. With this measure, the aim is to improve the quality of life of these minors by providing them with the necessary support for their holistic development.
Regional government officials have highlighted the relevance of foster families as an essential pillar in the child protection system, underscoring the importance of having adequate resources to support their work.
The increase in aid is part of a series of strategies aimed at improving the living conditions of the minors under guardianship, promoting their integration into society and ensuring their long-term well-being. Furthermore, it reinforces the Community of Madrid's commitment to children's rights and to supporting families that perform this vital role.
In this sense, the regional government's commitment to increasing investments in these aids reflects the intention not only to maintain but to strengthen the foster care system, consolidating it as a valuable option for the care of children in vulnerable situations.
