The storm battering the eastern part of the peninsula has triggered a warning in several areas of Valencia, after causing floods and overflows in Zaragoza on Sunday. In Aldaia, the accumulation of up to 57 liters per square meter caused the La Saleta ravine to overflow, flooding urban streets, although the flood barriers limited the impact. The Valencia metropolitan area also experienced heavy rainfall during the early hours of the morning, with notable accumulations in towns such as Manises and Paterna. Despite tense moments, the drop in precipitation avoided the need for evacuations. The Metrovalencia service adjusted its schedules, operating with reduced services due to the storm.
Moreover, in Castellón, the firefighters carried out a rescue in Sant Jordi, where a vehicle was trapped by floodwaters, and rainfall accumulations in towns across the province surpassed 60 liters per square meter. In Tarragona, about 400 subscribers were left without power, and the entire area remains under a red alert. Currently, six roads are closed in Aragon and the Valencian Community, while rainfall of up to 300 liters per square meter is forecast in the coming hours in Valencia. The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) maintains red alerts in several areas, with emphasis on the risk of severe local flooding, and recommends exercising caution and staying informed about the progression of the storm.
