A new hospital is about to transform healthcare in the northern part of the region, benefiting mainly the 25,000 local residents. However, its doors will be open to any citizen who needs specialized care. With a strategic location next to Lozoyuela's emergency helipad and the A-1 highway, the Sierra Norte Hospital of Care and Functional Recovery spans 10,500 square meters.
The hospital's innovative architectural design contemplates two parallel rectangular blocks separated by a garden, while a building connected by an underground tunnel will house a base of the autonomous Emergency Medical Service (SUMMA 112) and a Home Care Unit.
This healthcare complex offers a hundred beds and has focused on creating a warm and home-like atmosphere in the rooms, accentuated by large windows that prioritize natural light. Equipped with the most advanced technology, the hospital will have a team of highly qualified professionals.
Sustainability and innovation are key aspects of the hospital's design, which includes advanced insulation techniques, LED lighting, and smart climate control systems designed to optimize energy consumption.
The establishment of this hospital is a fundamental component of the regional government's strategy to reinforce the network of public centers for medium- and long-term care in the Community of Madrid. This network already includes the facilities in Guadarrama, La Fuenfría, Virgen de la Poveda, and the Functional Recovery Unit affiliated with the Hospital Enfermera Isabel Zendal in the capital.
The project is framed within the Health Department's Plan for the Modernization of Hospital Infrastructure, which aims to expand and improve healthcare in several areas of the region, ensuring that all citizens have access to quality medical care.
