Nine hospitals of the Madrid Health Service (SERMAS) have been recognized in the category of 'global hospital management', highlighting their commitment to quality healthcare. The awardees were the 12 de Octubre centers, Puerta de Hierro de Majadahonda, Fundación Jiménez Díaz, La Princesa, Getafe, Infanta Elena de Valdemoro, Rey Juan Carlos de Móstoles, Villalba and Torrejón.
In addition, twelve public hospitals in the Community of Madrid received awards for their excellence in various clinical areas. In pediatrics, the Infanta Sofía and Getafe hospitals were recognized. In the field of the Respiratory System, the awardees included Gregorio Marañón, 12 de Octubre, La Princesa, Getafe and Villalba.
The Gregorio Marañón Hospital was highlighted in Emergency and Critical Care, alongside Infanta Elena and King Juan Carlos. In the cardiac area, Infanta Cristina, Fuenlabrada, and Fundación Jiménez Díaz were distinguished. Other awards included the areas of Digestive, Musculoskeletal, and Kidney, with notable mentions for Jiménez Díaz Foundation and King Juan Carlos.
During the awards ceremony, which took place on October 16 in Madrid, the Deputy Health Minister, Laura Gutiérrez Barreno, highlighted the "enormous work" of the community's professionals. The constant dedication to providing excellent care stood out, overcoming management challenges with modernity and efficiency.
These awards consolidate the leadership position of Madrid's healthcare system and motivate us to continue improving people's quality of life," said Gutiérrez Barreno, reiterating SERMAS's commitment to healthcare that not only cures, but also cares for and accompanies.
The event featured the participation of clinical managers, department heads, and various patient associations, highlighting the value of collaboration among different actors in the healthcare sector to continue driving patient-centered care.
