Belarusian balloons force the temporary suspension of operations at Vilnius and Kaunas airports.

A total of 10 flights were canceled, 14 were diverted, and 16 faced delays at major airports, affecting approximately 6,000 passengers. The decisions were made due to adverse weather conditions that hindered air operations, causing chaos in the terminals. Passengers expressed their frustration over the inconveniences, while the airlines worked to rebook itineraries and offer compensation where appropriate.

The airlines issued statements asking for understanding and patience from users, and offered facilities for changing tickets at no additional cost. The competent authorities also deployed additional personnel to handle the situation and provide assistance to the passengers. It is expected that weather conditions will improve in the coming hours, allowing operations to resume their usual course as soon as possible.
