On September 15, CaixaForum Madrid was the venue for an important conference titled "Scientific and Technological Journalism: The Future of Science and Technology in the New European Reality." This event, organized by the Federation of Associations of Journalists of Spain (FAPE) in collaboration with the 'la Caixa' Foundation, inaugurated a series of debates focused on the impact and evolution of journalism in the scientific and technological field.
The initiative brought together sector experts, journalists, academics, and representatives of scientific institutions, providing a space to analyze and discuss the role of journalism in the promotion of science and technology within the current European context. During the day, crucial topics such as scientific outreach, the effective communication of technological advances, and their impact on the daily life of European citizens were addressed.
The attendees highlighted the importance of strengthening the ties between journalists and scientists to ensure accurate and responsible coverage, especially at a time when information must compete with misinformation in the digital realm. Additionally, the need to adapt journalistic narratives to the new technological realities and to the demands of an increasingly connected and demanding audience was stressed.
This event marks the beginning of a series of debates that will seek to continue exploring these themes throughout the year, consolidating CaixaForum Madrid as a key meeting point for the exchange of ideas and the promotion of specialized journalism in science and technology.
