The People's Party group in Congress has requested the urgent appearance of Renfe's president, Raül Blanco, and Adif's president, Ángel Contreras, to address what they describe as 'railway chaos' in Spain and the reduction of compensation for delays. Moreover, they will ask the Minister of Industry, Jordi Hereu, to explain the resignation of the president of the car manufacturers' association, Wayne Griffiths, due to the government's inaction in electromobility. The PP has also submitted written questions so that the Government reports on the consequences of its inaction in the rail network. The autonomous communities governed by the PP have requested from the Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, an urgent sectoral conference on the state of the railway network and road transport concessions. According to the Popular Party, between June 3 and 13 more than 338 incidents occurred, affecting 67,500 passengers, with 10,377 compensations awarded. They criticize that since July 1, the refund terms for delays have been modified, reducing the compensation payments compared with the previous terms.
