The new novel by Dan Brown, The last secret, was released this Tuesday in Prague, the emblematic city where the action and mystery story once again centers on the symbolist professor Robert Langdon. Since the night before, a long line of fans formed in the old town hall, eagerly waiting to acquire their copy. These early readers had the privilege of receiving the book with a dedication from the author, at an event organized by the Argo publishing house in collaboration with Prague City Tourism. The anticipation has been high, especially for those who have followed Langdon's adventures, who have waited eight years for this new tale.
In this work, Langdon travels to the Czech capital to attend a conference by the scientist Katherine Solomon, who is about to reveal a discovery that could alter notions about human consciousness. However, chaos erupts with a series of murders and the mysterious disappearance of Katherine. To enrich the literary experience, a tour of the places that appear in the novel has been designed, highlighting the Klementinum Library and a little-known atomic shelter. The translator, Michala Marková, shared the challenges she faced during the translation, working in a bunker and keeping her manuscript in a safe. Additionally, Dan Brown's visit to Prague is expected on September 18, during which he will hold a press conference and a meeting with his readers.
