Criminal network dismantled after massive theft of terrace chairs in Madrid and Toledo

The authorities have dismantled a criminal network that specialized in the theft and sale of street furniture in several European countries and in Africa. The group operated mainly in Spain, where they stole chairs from public spaces and then marketed them through a well-organized international network. Police sources indicated that the stolen items were not only sold in the domestic market, but also reached countries such as Morocco and Romania, significantly increasing the reach of the illicit trade.

The police operation that led to the arrest of several members of the organization was the result of a joint investigation between different security forces in Europe and Africa. The authorities were able to identify the points of sale and warehouses where the furniture had accumulated prior to its distribution. This crushing blow to the network has been highlighted as an important advance in the fight against the theft and trafficking of public property, underscoring the importance of international cooperation in combating organized crime.
