The English midfielder arrived on a private jet around 9:00 p.m., culminating a deal that had previously been at risk due to failed negotiations between Atlético and Chelsea for Samu Omorodion. With Joao Félix's recent agreement with Chelsea, Atlético now has the 50 million euros necessary to sign Gallagher, whose link to the Colchonero club will extend until 2029. Gallagher will have to sign his new contract against the clock to join the unveiling of the summer 'super signings' alongside Le Normand, Julián Álvarez and Sorloth.
