The refurbishment of La Rambla in Barcelona advances with the start of the second phase of works, which will focus on the Raval side. The city council has reaffirmed its commitment to meeting the deadlines, hoping to complete the renovation by 2027. The second phase, which will last approximately ten months, will replace the initial works carried out on the Gothic side, where the schedule was extended to twelve months after significant archaeological findings.
Starting from the phase change, traffic in the uphill direction along the Gòtic side is restored, allowing the mobility of residents, buses, taxis and access to hotels. A specific configuration for public transport will be maintained, while the permanent information point 'Espai Rambla' will remain operational at the Palau de la Virreina, providing resources to citizens and organizations. This renovation aims not only to modernize La Rambla, but also to preserve and enhance its rich history.
