Exiled Venezuelan activist and political scientist escape from an attack in Colombia.

Yendri Velásquez and Luis Peche were victims of an armed attack while they were waiting for an Uber in front of a building. According to eyewitnesses, two gunmen fired at least a dozen shots from a moving vehicle, leaving the victims seriously injured at the scene. The incident took place in a busy urban area, which generated panic among the pedestrians and nearby residents who witnessed the violent incident.

The authorities arrived quickly at the scene to secure the area and begin an investigation. An extensive search operation has been deployed to track down the perpetrators, who fled immediately after the attack. The initial hypotheses suggest that it could be a case of settling scores, although the motive behind the attack has not yet been officially confirmed. The event has rekindled concerns about security in the region and the operations of organized crime groups.
